A Message from District Governor NANCY HALTERMAN

DG Nancy Halterman, a Domestic Engineer, in Dana, Iowa would like to welcome you to the District 9NW's website.

Just a little about me, I live in Dana, Iowa where we have made our family home for the last 11 years. My Husband PDG Ray Halterman and I have been foster and adoptive parents for over 20 years. We have 14 children. I run a daycare during the day. I have held many jobs in Lions over the years: Leader Dog chair, Diabetes chair, Region chair, Zone chair and President of my local club in Grand Junction. I am a graduate of the Great Plains Leadership Institute. Partner-in-service PDG Ray Halterman is her CST this year. He works at North Central Corectional Facility in Rockwell City

I want to encourage all clubs in my district to follow my theme this year “Pulling Together for Lionism”. I would like clubs to try to have joint meetings so I have a better chance to meet with all clubs in your area.

My goal is to start and keep at least 2 new clubs this year. I have training lined up for new guiding Lions. So I need all Lions to search their hearts and join me in this endeavor. I need 12 hard working Lions to commit to be Guiding Lions these new Guiding Lions will help these new clubs into the future. Keeping in mind that the important thing is to keep the members we already have and to strengthen the existing clubs with new members. I also would like to assist our clubs in recruiting new members. I already have a commitment from Lions Clubs International to bring in teams to help strengthen our exiting clubs and also start new clubs.
